WAYNE, N.J. -- Clarence Smit, of Wayne, died on Dec. 26. He was 94.
Born in The Netherlands, he immigrated to the US in 1950 and settled in Wayne before moving to Haledon 10 years ago. He was a self-employed accountant and retired in 2007. He was a member of the Unity Christian Reformed Church, Prospect Park.
He is survived by his children, George Smit, Clarence Smit, Florence Wyder, Geri Vooys, Karen Ingenito, Michael Smit, Marilyn Vera and Moses; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six siblings.
He is predeceased by his wife, Jeanette Smit, son James Smit and nine siblings.
